How to get to the Amalfi Coast

We have included some information on how to get to the Amalfi Coast from Rome, Naples or Salerno:

Arriving by car

From Rome

Highway A1 to Naples, after Caserta Sud, cross the Highway A3 to Salerno. Approximately 20 km after Pompeii, exit at Castellammare di Stabia, then follow the signs to Costiera Amalfitana and Positano.

From Naples

Take the motorway A3, after Pompeii, exit at Castellammare di Stabia, then follow the signs to Costiera Amalfitana and Positano, Amalfi and all the villages along the Amalfi Coast.
From Salerno (34 km)
Take the motorway A3 and exit at Vietri sul Mare then follow directions for Costiera Amalfitana (SS.163). Once you are in Vietri sul Mare this is the beginning of the Amalfi Coast.



Arriving by Train

From Naples

Take the Circumvesuviana (http://www.eavcampania.it) to Sorrento. Now you can get a fast train from Naples called Campania Express more info on this site (http://www.napoliunplugged.com/campania-express-tourist-train-to-herculaneum-pompeii-and-sorrento) . Once in Sorrento Station take the Sita Bus to Positano / Amalfi.

From Rome

From Rome Central Statione (Roma Termini, http://www.trenitalia.com) take the train to Naples Central Station and then take the Circumvesuviana (http://www.eavcampania.it) to Sorrento then another but to the Amalfi Coast.

From “Leonardo da Vinci” airport, take the train to Rome Termini station and proceed to Naples Central Station with Freccia Rossa (http://www.trenitalia.com). From Central Station take the Circumvesuviana to Sorrento. Once in Sorrento station take the Sita Bus to Positano / Amalfi
