Naples to Positano Self Drive

This option sounds fantastic as everyone dreams to drive along the Amalfi Coast as shown in many movies. Sound very romantic but the reality nowadays is very different especially if you drive in the busy months from May to the end of September.

The traffic can be a nightmare and finding a parking space is almost impossible and private parking along the coast are quite expensive with cost from €4 to €8 per hour. If you decide to drive, you need to make sure of a few things, first that your accommodation has a parking option available in Positano.

Another important aspect is the time you travel as from 10am to 4-5pm the traffic can be very heavy along the coast as lots of bus tours are pouring in for the day. Another very important thing to bear in mind is to have a sat nav available to avoid getting lost especially if your accommodation is located in the villages above the coast. If you are visiting during the low season months from October a car can be a great option as bus and ferry services are less frequent.

You can rent your car at the airport or the train station there are several companies that do that just do a search online.
